Summer School on Contaminated Sediments
Characterization and Remediation

About the ETeCoS3 program

The summer school will be hold in the framework of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate programme (EMJD) in Environmental Technologies for Contaminated Solids, Soils and Sediments (ETeCoS3). See for more information.

The ETeCoS3 is a multidisciplinary and inter-sectorial consortium coordinated by the University of Cassino (Italy), composed of three partner organizations:

  1. University of Cassino (Italy)
  2. University of Paris-Est (France)
  3. IHE Delft (The Netherlands)
  • 12 academic associated members
  • 3 professional associations
  • 1 SME associated member from 10 different countries, including three-third countries

All members of the ETeCoS3 partnership are recognized internationally, with long-standing track records in research and higher education.

Key topics

The ETeCoS3 EMJD is focused around three key topics in environmental pollution:

  1. heavy metals
  2. recalcitrant organic pollutants
  3. contaminated solids

The EMJD focuses on fundamental and applied aspects to treat and remove these pollutants as well as on the development of recovery and reuse technologies with market potential.
